Why is the SmileBrilliant! lab direct process better than laser teeth whitening?
The SmileBrilliant! lab direct process is more effective than laser whitening!
Laser teeth whitening is an in-office teeth whitening process. The translucent teeth whitening gel is applied to the teeth and a laser light is used to activate the crystals to absorb the energy from the light and penetrate the teeth enamel to increase the whitening effect on the teeth.
The length of time spent in the cosmetic dentist's chair whitening your teeth depends on the degree of discoloration you have.
Many dentists are moving away from using lasers for teeth whitening since they find the heat source is much too difficult to control, and new studies show the result differences to be similar, or even inferior when compared with the SmileBrilliant! Teeth Whitening Process.
Costs can vary depending upon the area you live in and the type of whitening treatment you undergo. Laser teeth whitening typically runs from $500 to over $1000 for the complete procedure.
Generally speaking, the price of laser teeth whitening increases with the number of in-office treatments required by the patient. Dental insurance does not typically cover the cost of any teeth whitening procedure as it is considered a cosmetic procedure.
What kind of results can I expect with your lab direct teeth whitening process?
Many people can see a difference after the first teeth whitening session. Dramatic results usually come in 5 to 6 days. We recommend that the initial teeth whitening process be continued for 12 consecutive days. After those 12 days, you only need to whiten your teeth as often as you want.
If you want a continuous white smile, then you will need to whiten at least once a month. If you just want your teeth white for special occasions, then whiten them the night before and 30 minutes before the event. Most people's teeth get up to 7 shades whiter in one day using our Lab Direct Teeth Whitening Process!
What if I'm not satisfied with my results?
SmileBrilliant! offers a no questions asked 100% results satisfaction guarantee. If you're not completely satisfied with your whitening results using our system, simply return the custom bleaching trays within 30 days and we'll give you a full product refund. Our business rests on the smiles and praise our customers deliver every day!
Is your whitening system safe?
YES! Studies from the Academy of General Dentistry, (AGD Impact, April 1998, p.23), during the past five years have proven the lab direct teeth whitening process to be safe and effective. A small percentage of people may experience some tooth sensitivity and gum irritation, which disappears once you stop using the Hi-Intensity Whitening Gel or by decreasing the amount of time you use the whitening system.
Will your hi-intensity whitening gel make my teeth sensitive or hurt my gums?
Some people experience temporary tooth sensitivity while using the SmileBrilliant! Lab Direct Teeth Whitening Process. Sensitivity will be relieved upon the discontinuation or completion of the teeth whitening usage session. There are no other significant side effects of the SmileBrilliant! Teeth Whitening Process.
With the SmileBrilliant! Custom Fitted Teeth Whitening Trays, our Hi-Intensity Teeth Whitening Gel should not come into contact with the gums unlike over the counter systems which use boil-n-bite teeth whitening trays. If sensitivity is occurring, try using less Hi-Intensity Teeth Whitening Gel. If it persists, try using the SmileBrilliant! Teeth Whitening Process less frequently and for a shorter duration each time.
What is the shelf life for the Hi-Intensity Teeth Whitening Gel?
Unrefrigerated, our Hi-Intensity Teeth Whitening Gel has a 1 year shelf life. Refrigerating the Hi-Intensity Teeth Whitening Gel adds 1 year of shelf life to that 1 year for a total of 2 years.
Our Hi-Intensity Teeth Whitening Gel is never more than 4-6 weeks old when you receive it because we are the manufacturer.
DO NOT FREEZE our Hi-Intensity Teeth Whitening Gel!
How does the SmileBrilliant! Teeth Whitening Process remove stains?
SmileBrilliant! Teeth Whitening Gel removes most stains with a gentle action that whitens your teeth. As the active ingredient in the gel (carbamide peroxide) is broken down, and oxygen acts upon the stained organic deposits and oxidizes them into a white color. This process makes the overall tooth color closer to its natural unstained color. Your tooth structure remains unchanged. Years of clinical tests have demonstrated the safety and effectiveness of this system. Over 95% of people treated achieve some level of tooth whitening.
Does the SmileBrilliant! Teeth Whitening Process work on tetracycline and minocycline discoloration?
Yes! Please see the article (from 2001) regarding this topic:
CHICAGO (January 23, 2001) The Academy of General Dentistry
New findings reveal how a tooth whitening procedure - typically not an option for those children with tetracycline-stained teeth - can be effective for lightening dark, intrinsic stains, with results lasting more than four and a half years, according to the Academy of General Dentistry.
"Before this study, people with tetracycline stains were considered poor candidates for nightguard vital bleaching," explains Ralph H. Leonard Jr., DDS, MPH, who has spent more than 10 years researching this topic, also known as a common tooth whitening procedure. "Until recently, crowns, veneers or internal bleaching were patients' primary cosmetic options for alleviating stains caused by tetracycline."
Tetracycline is an antibiotic that was widely used in the past primarily to treat ear infections in children. When the drug is taken during tooth formation and development, it can cause dark, intrinsic discolorations of teeth -- staining the tooth from the inside out. The teeth may be stained various shades of yellow, gray, brown or bluish-black with horizontal bands during the time in which the drug was taken.
Minocycline, a drug in the tetracycline family, is also capable of discoloring teeth. Minocycline is widely used today to treat severe acne in adolescents. Consumers, dentists and medical doctors should be aware of the possible tooth staining effects of minocycline therapy.
Patients with tetracycline stains on the lower two-thirds of the tooth (the biting edge) may see a better cosmetic result than those that have stains on the upper third of the tooth, near the gum line.
Tooth bleaching is the whitening method used to treat tetracycline stains. Stains can be lightened in many cases with extended treatment time and with minimal side effects. "Most commonly reported side effects are tooth sensitivity and gum irritation; both disappear soon after completion of the whitening," says Dr. Leonard.
Patients are fitted with custom mouth tray for application of the whitening gel. The patient will place the gel in the tray and wear the tray for four to eight hours a day or at night until a desirable cosmetic results is obtained. In many cases, it may be four to eight weeks for the desired effect to occur, but it could take six or more to obtain the result, due to extensive staining.
"This whitening method shows that tetracycline-stained teeth can be whitened successfully," reports Dr. Leonard. "Patients who participated in the study were overwhelmingly positive about the results, were glad they had participated in the study and would recommend the procedure to others."
The Academy of General Dentistry is a non-profit organization of more than 37,000 general dentists dedicated to staying up-to-date in the profession through continuing education. A general dentist is the primary care provider for patients of all ages and is responsible for the diagnosis, treatment, management and overall coordination of services related to patient's oral health needs.
Can the SmileBrilliant! Teeth Whitening Process whiten crowns, bridges and veneers?
The SmileBrilliant! Teeth Whitening Process can lighten teeth which have porcelain veneers. Our teeth whitening process will not make a color change in the dental work you have already had done but can remove discoloration from staining. This includes restorations such as: white fillings, bonding, crowns, and bridges. In most cases, a person's teeth should undergo the SmileBrilliant! Teeth Whitening Process prior to their dental work in order to match the new shade of their teeth.
Is the SmileBrilliant! whitening process permanent?
No, however, for most people, the treatment will last for many years. Your teeth have become stained in the first place from consuming various foods and beverages. Upon the completion of your initial usage, your teeth are restored to their natural white color. Exposure to foods, drinks such as coffee, colas and red wines, smoking and other consumables will gradually darken teeth again over time. You may want to periodically use the SmileBrilliant! Teeth Whitening Process. After the initial usage, most people do touchups at least once a month.
What is the difference between the custom-fitted SmileBrilliant! tray and the boil-n-bite trays?
Although both trays are safe, the precision SmileBrilliant! Custom-Fitted Teeth Whitening Trays are more precise and more comfortable to wear. These are the exact mouthpieces that a dentist provides. They help you save Hi-Intensity Teeth Whitening Gel and are better for people who may have sensitivities to teeth whitening gels.
Additionally, SmileBrilliant! Custom Fitted Teeth Whitening Trays are much easier for you to create since there is no boiling water involved in the formation process.
Why is the SmileBrilliant! process better than others?
Simply put, other processes do not work effectively. Teeth whitening systems found in mass retail markets do not use Carbamide Peroxide, the exact ingredient used in professional dental offices. Some over the counter teeth whitening trays are not moldable to your teeth and do not hold the teeth whitening gel in the proper position. Many over the counter teeth whitening gels are not thick enough to stay in place and will leak out of the teeth whitening tray. Most over the counter teeth whitening gels typically have less effective active ingredients or a lower concentration of active ingredients.
Do you ship outside the United States?
Yes, SmileBrilliant! does ship internationally. Please allow 10 - 14 days for the shipping process to complete.
How much Hi-Intensity Teeth Whitening Gel do I need to whiten my teeth?
Each 3cc Hi-Intensity Whitening Gel Syringe normally lasts 3-4 full applications (one application includes both top and bottom mouthpieces). In a normal usage scenario, three (3) full syringes will be used to reach your desired level of whiteness. Subsequent syringes will be used to maintain your level of whiteness for the months to come (generally 1 syringe per every 2-3 months to maintain your white teeth).
I already have a set of moldable mouthpieces. Can I purchase just the whitening gel?
Yes, we sell Hi-Intensity, professional Carbamide Peroxide whitening gel separately. This is the same whitening gel that is sold in our complete systems and professional dental offices. It can be used with any dental tray in the same way as your previous whitening gel.
How long should I wear my custom-fitted trays?
We recommend that you wear your bleaching trays anywhere from 45 minutes to 3 hours. After 3 hours the whitening agent in the gel will have minimal effect. How long you wear your trays really depends on you. You can choose to wear them all night; however, after 3 hours the whitening gel will have a minimal effect on your color of your teeth.
How important are custom-fitted trays?
Custom-fitted whitening trays are essential in a REAL teeth whitening system. Ask any dental professional and they will agree that top quality whitening can only come with custom-fitted trays and professional strength bleaching gel. Don't be fooled by teeth whitening products that claim to be the same as the dentist's yet don't include custom bleaching trays. NO over the counter product can yield the same results! Even laser whitening is temporary and requires repeated dental visits costing up to $2000.

How many times a week am I supposed to use the whitening gel?
The answer to this question varies per person based on tooth sensitivity and severity of stains.
The average person with light to moderate stains should use the product daily for 4-7 days (1-3 hours per day) before all stains have been removed from the surface of their tooth's enamel. Those with more severe stains may need to use the teeth whitening gel and trays daily for as long as 10-14 days. Those with sensitive teeth will want to space their applications out with a day or two rest in-between treatments.
Keep in mind teeth whitening is best described as teeth bleaching because it does not make your teeth white, it simply removes the stains from the surface of the tooth's enamel, thus restoring it to its original color. If you notice after several treatment's that your teeth are not getting whiter it is likely your teeth are stain free and they will not get any whiter.
How old must you be to use teeth whitening?
According to the ADA those who are 13 and up who have fully developed their permanent teeth are candidates for teeth whitening; however we (Smile Brilliant) encourage those under that age of 18 to consult with their dentist prior to using our product.
Can I use teeth whitening trays with permanent retainers?
Yes. It is perfectly fine to use teeth whitening trays with your permanent retainers. When taking your impressions just make sure you go deep enough to cover your retainers and your trays will fit like a glove!
Can I use my invisalign with your teeth whitening gel?
While it could be possible we do not recommend using your invisalign as teeth whitening trays because the invisalign has a VERY snug fit which means it would likely push all of the gel out of the trays causing it to spill in your mouth.
Will teeth whitening treat Tetracycline Stains on teeth?
Mild Tetracycline stains can be treated with tooth whitening treatments and can be reduced after a few treatments; however more severe stains will need porcelain veneers to restore a bright smile. If you feel your stains are mild then itís worth a try however it may be in your best interest to ask your dentist this question.
How many gel syringes do I need?
The number of gel required varies per person and difficult to gauge without actually seeing your teeth but here is a general guideline: LIGHTLY STAINED teeth = 3 gel syringes | MODERATELY/HEAVILY STAINED teeth = 6 gel syringes | HEAVILY STAINED teeth (or those who want extra for maintenance) = 9 gel syringes
When will I see results?
Results will appear after each treatment as long as you have stains on your teeth. It's difficult to gauge when you will see full results but the average person will see their whitest shade after 5-7 applications. At some point you will notice your teeth are no longer getting whiter. This indicates all stains have been removed and your teeth are at their brightest level of "white."
After you go through the initial 5-7 applications you will want to do one application every 2-3 months (less than one syringe) to keep your teeth stain free and at their whitest.
Keep in mind all teeth are colored different: some are white, some off-white, and others have a slight yellowish color. Teeth whitening will not alter the color of your teeth, it simply removes the stains, thus restoring them to their original color.
